Hopefully they don't use the rebooted PC graphics that made it look like Corpse Party: Battle Network.

The PSP release of the original was fantastic which I played on the PS Vita. Article neglected to mention, the sequel Corpse Party: Book of Shadows released on the PSP in 2011, which I also played on the PS Vita - pretty fantastic as well. The most recent game Corpse Party: Blood Drive was buggy and well as uninspired dropping almost all the reading instead opting for essentially a stealth game - pretty disappointing but worth playing if a fan of the franchise. As far as the new remake - I would be hesitant unless I was able to skip through a playthrough first to see if I agree with the remake choices. The first game is such a stylistic synthesis of rpg maker and visual novel that it would be really hard to remake unless it is more or less a port and then I would gladly pay to have it readily accessible on the switch. The fact that MAGES is behind it gives me hope.

I remember my reaction when they announced the Switch version of Blood Drive was, "Can we just have the original instead?" so this is nice.

Sigh... Guess this is just a means to keep people vaguely aware of this franchise, so nobody will have fully forgotten it by the time Dead Patient is actually finished... if that ever happens.

I'm assuming this'll just be a port of the PSP/3DS/iOS version, and that's a perfectly fine thing! While all of the subsequent sequels are worth the time for fans, the first game is easily the series high point, so the more people that get to experience it the better

The Twitter post referenced in the article mentions them rebuilding the game system for the new hardware, and says they're adding voices to all the extra scenarios that were added in the 3DS version.
