Not "Nazi experiments" -- more a straight rip of Ito Junji's _Gyo_

Anyway: I'd say the _TWIA_ crew this week really got...

[sunglasses]

...BUGGERED.

The shaky cam is the single worst vice of modern filmmaking, and Aragne may as well have installed its camera on top of a Hitachi Magic Wand.

Ok, that gave me a pretty good laugh. Smile The SHAFT joke was pretty good too. But yeah, those characters really do look like they were cribbed from Superdolfies! The bug-brain is just John Carpenter's The Thing head trying to sneak out of the lab, just with all that excess face and skull stripped away.

TWIA is at its best (in my opinion) when the columnists of the moment disagree on the show being discussed, regardless of its true quality. The Lost Song column was great for this reason, but I think this one might exceed it. Bonus points for being all Gilgamesh-y (read: low-budget, bleakly colored, and ambitiously directed) in the screencaps, thus appealing me to it despite the clear message of "DO NOT WATCH".

Not that I plan on watching Aragne anytime soon, but only time will tell if I go through with it.

an accident on the I-95

This is perhaps a weird thing to fixate on, but where on the I-95 corridor do people actually refer to it as the I-95 as opposed to I-95 or just 95 (or, if you're in the Boston area, 128, because you hate everybody who's trying to read a map)?
