From what I understand the 1973 version of Doraemon is really hard to find so airing a remastered episode is a big deal.

Doraemon was my very first manga series I collected back then when I lived in Vietnam. As many other manga series at that time the pages and panels were mirrored to match the western reading direction.

I only remember the 1980 version and didn't even know that there were other (remade) versions of it. I also still have the anime comic edition of that dinosaur story. Many Doraemon movies had a more serious tone in comparison to the episodic chapters from the series and this one in particular felt especially mature and stand out thanks to its high production value. I was also a big sucker for dinosaurs as a kid so I was also into the whole new setting, which also felt pretty unique because of its mixture of futuristic sci fi elements and the prehistoric settings. And then there was the bittersweet ending which was also kinda uncommon for most of the popular kids shows and their respective movies.

Nobita's dinosaur from 2005 is a really beautiful and emotional movie. I highly recommend it.
