Skimmed through HXEROS (I'll be watching Fire Force later) and it was censored as expected, so I'll probably wait till an uncensored version or the BDs come out. Interesting that the idol shot seemed to be censored in-universe, but the male MC seemed to see everything of the female MC (or at least didn't mention that). Also noticed that the male MC was completely uncensored when nude from behind on his own, but censored when with the female MC.

Should be interesting to see how the final version looks in comparison on the BD

It's more than just that. "Hentai" technically also means "transformation" in Japanese, but pretty much nobody uses it this way anymore, since the other meaning of the word is far more well-known nowadays (well, I've heard One Piece does use it this way as a joke, but I've never seen that show). They default to the synonymous "Henshin" instead.

That's exactly how it happened in the manga. The Monster of the Week was a "Censor Bug" with the power of censoring things In-Universe. The idol will probably keep the censor lights even in the uncensored version. Which, by the way, is airing six days after the censored version.

Man, I'm worried about this season and these two don't make me less worried. Hopefully I'll discover something I want to watch.

Couldn't understand why the Fire Force community rating was so low at first (around 3.5 when I first checked, it's up to 4 as I type) but then I watched it. I'm guessing certain people weren't happy with the calendar segment. Didn't bother me, I scored it a 4.

The schedule: https://myanimelist.net/anime/season
Before we begin. The well-produced Great Pretender that began last month and will finish early into this season failed to keep me around but ep 1-3 were solid. I may return. 6/10
April´s Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 is one of the best TV anime in years and is the best-looking TV budget CG show after Clone Wars. Minus some scenes. 2nd GiG is the peak of GitS anime but this, all of Arise and the 1995 film come soon thereafter. But beware. You need to have seen all of SAC to properly follow along and this season only tells half a story. Please do more than just 2 1-cour-seasons IG! 8,5/10

Deca-Dence has a solid director and a solid writer but Hiroshi Seko is known for adapting well and this is an original show. NUT is also a fairly new studio with no major accomplishments to their name. We have a wild card.

Nihon Chinbotsu I have never cared about the previous takes on Japan Sinks but Science SARU at least knows how to animate. I´ll give this a shot.

The Dorohedoro OVA was alright but is cheap AF. I wonder if S1 was it.
Lupin III: The First is nothing special as expected but it looked almost as good as the Tintin film. Respect. Shingeki no Kyojin: Chronicle isn´t a summary of S03 but instead a summary of ALL the 59 eps (minus the OVAs) WIT did! The Fang of the Sun Dougram film summed up 75 eps in 80 minutes but this is almost as bad. Lol. Umibe no Étranger is based on an ok Yaoi manga which automatically makes it one of the better LGBT+ stories out of Japan. Shika no Ou by IG will take till September if no delays come so I won´t see it till next year. Looks interesting. Eva 4.0 is lastly delayed till ? due to Covid-19. For the better I say.
This and the last season took a clear pandemic ding. And likely the next. I hope that my meager selection will work out. The season is already stretched mega thin but that´s TV/films in 2020 for you.

I know Funi eventually gets the uncensored versions of other shows on it's streaming service, but I'm not sure how long it will take for this one since the delay for uncensored stuff doesn't seem to be set.

No censorship was as annoying as My First Girlfriend is a Gal - not only did it cover up far more than it needed too, the censor gimmick they used came with sound effects.

Really intrigued by Deca-Dence, and I just dig the general look and vibe of the show (missed the creator interviews afterwards though). The setting and world feels a little bit nostalgic in a mid-2000s way to be honest.

I also never actually finished Fire Force S1, but did end up watching the first two episodes of S2 during Funimation's stream yesterday (since the person watching with me loves the show). Since the second episode wasn't talked about during preview guide, I'll avoid talking specifics here, but the new OP is so good. It also looks like Zeno Robinson, Cherami Leigh, and Mark Allen Jr. are joining the dub cast as of Ep. 2.

Yeah, hooves are like ultra-thick fingernails and horses do not respond sexually to having them trimmed and shoe-equipped. Seems more than a little like Monster Musume...

Just to be clear before anyone asks about this, Deca-Dence will be covered in the PG when it regularly premieres on Funi, presumably on Thursday.

And honestly, I don't think you missed much in the interviews after the FuniCon debut. The only real takeaway I got from it was that the concept started development in early 2017 with the notion of people living in a giant mech that fought other big things, and that SDF Macross was mentioned as a partial inspiration.

Oh yeah, I figured since its not like there's any playback option for it (or FF's second ep for that matter). Makes more sense to write about it when more people can actually watch it.

I do think Nick Creamer's review on Demon King Academy is a little misguided, calling it just a self-pity narrative. Anos not only seems to have no negative feelings about being an outcast, but even seems to believe that this seclusion is something he brought entirely on himself (given that he's the evil Demon King's reincarnation, this should come as no surprise and might even sound justified).

I like Anos quite a bit actually, having the kind of strange morality you'd expect a Demon King to have. Capable of great cruelty towards those that antagonize him but holds an odd respect for familial values and encourages others to do the same. I do hope the running gag of him telling boomer jokes that no one else gets continues, that got a decent chuckle out of me. There seems to be more of an effort to give him characterization that someone like Tatsuya just didn't have.

Unfortunately he and his goofy parents were the only parts of the introduction that worked for me, character-wise. Misha and her occasional snark towards Anos had it's moments but kuudere characters generally aren't my thing as far as personality goes.

I'm just waiting for Deca-Dance and Re:Zero now lol

Just a correctional note on The Misfit of the Demon King.

Its streaming on Crunchyroll.. not Funimation.

@ThatGuyWhoLikesThings remember according to him "ascendant bookworm" 2/5, but "hentai heroes" 3/5

personally this season so far I have not been interested in anything, well since the preview I was not really interested in any of the new releases nor the continuations, in fact the anime that if they interested me were postponed, it's probably that it will be a dead season for me.

This happens, on average, about once or twice a season. The reasons for it can vary: an unannounced special preview, a delay in something else kicked it up on the schedule, the date was changed but the announcement wasn't, etc. Haven't heard anything about this case; maybe someone who read Japanese can check the Twitter feed for the series/studio?
