I fully expected this to happen. Just finished reading the first LN ancouolenof weeks ago. It was fine, definitely has that Konosuba sense of humor about it.

This series is all right. Would've preferred a Konosuba season 3 though

Funny series, but most of the jokes involve the main guy physically and sexually harassing his female subordinates so it'll definitely raise a stink.

Also totally expected, given the pedigree and the first novel. This should be a fun series.

Eh, don't forget Kemono Michi is also written by Akatsuki, and that one didn't exactly get stellar reviews despite being one of his newer works...

So they thinks to adapt all the works that this author has done in life?
I don't want to annoy people who like their type of humor, but it is to generalize "that it will be good just because the author did such a thing" Also that his humor is starting to get repetitive "Cautious hero" IS konosuba, but with other characters and worst made, same premise put the typical guy who annoys one or several silly girls.
Also, isn't it too soon for them to adapt this novel? it only has 5 volumes
meanwhile "She professed herself pupil of the wise man" has 12

I really wanted Konosuba 3, but this sounds fun too.

4 volumes is really more than plenty for an anime adaptation unless maybe it is getting 2 cours right out of the gate which I doubt applies here. Even then, some 2 cour series only cover 4 volumes.

Interesting. I just hope that the anime adaptation turns out well since, from what I’ve heard, the anime adaptation of Kemono Michi wasn’t great. Looking forward to viewing this one.

Was the problem with Kemono Michi the way the adaptation was done or the series? It may not have been the grand slam that Konosuba was, but I did enjoy KM.
Based on the first novel alone, Combatants is a bit different animal, though it still uses the same irreverent attitude. It's also less of a one-trick pony, with broader opportunities for humor. It should be more successful than either KM or Cautious Hero (which disappointed me).

The adaptation. When Kemono Michi was airing, I remember some people having complaints about how the anime became different from the manga as it went on in the sense that it stopped adhering to the source material. I’ll admit that when I was watching Kemono Michi, the beginning seemed a lot more like the author’s style/tendencies than how it turned out near the end just by in comparison to Konosuba. I just hope that this series can have more fitting staff than Kemono Michi had.
