As a disc collector I hope Funimation or another company is able to release this movie, OVA and series on home video.

Meh..
Having seen the TV series, and then going with a group to screen this movie. I would have to say this is probably one of the duller anime experiences as of late. This is even keeping in mind what the series is and tempo it setup previously.
Not a bad movie, but not terribly interesting either.

Not long ago Violet's voice actress for LatinAmerica passed away at such a young age. She was perfect for the role and printed so much passion that it will be so sad to hear a new voice actress.

I know, it's really sad, she made a really good job. I wonder who will voice Violet now in the neutral spanish version.

I really hope so as well. Netflix anime generally streams at about 500-4000 Mbps depending on the Codec. You can see this with ctrl+shift+Alt+D. This shows the MAXIMUM bitrate a file reaches.Violet Evergarden is showing me a mere 727Kbps with a 96Kbps audio bitrate. Even with VP9 Codec, that's really really low. It should be a minimum of 8000 for 1080p with AVC1/h264 and probably still 6000 or higher for VP9. It's honestly pretty vile and explains why the dark scenes look horrendous. Having the MAXIMUM only hit 727kbps is baffling and I'd even say insulting to the creators. That's on browsers.
If I watch it using the Windows App, it switches back to AVC1/h264 and is at 3160kbps for video and 128kbps for audio. Odd that audio would change at all since the audio codec is the same either way, but 3160kbps AVC1 is much better than 727kbps VP9...so watching on a browser is definitely the worse option to begin with. But again, 3160kbps is still half of what the MINIMUM should be and basically ruins any dark scenes and is the main reason for the color banding issues people may notice if they're sitting close to their screen.
That's ignoring all the translation/subtitle mistakes that they never fix (for any of their shows). With a home release, I can at least edit the mistakes myself lol.
Anyway, TLDR for the sake of quality in all forms from visual, audio, and translation/subtitles, I'd love a home release as well. Though probably will just import from Japan. $80 with really nice bonuses including two art books is hard to resist.
Sorry for mini-rant. It's great that people will be able to watch this worldwide, but I'm a quality ***** so streaming quality just isn't good enough for me, and my biggest grudge against Netflix is that they almost never release home video for stuff they have license for, such as the Violet Evergarden TV series. People should at least get to choose.
