These announcements are constant... the 2.5D boom is real.

I hope they start getting more attention and coverage overseas, because they're important.

Also, I wonder if the Olympics-related tourism expectations are adding to it? But I don't think so. There are literally dozens of theaters being built in Tokyo nowadays - in Ikebukuro right next to the Animate main store, there's a new complex with 8 theaters in it. A lot of 2.5D stage plays have been at Hulic Hall in Yurakucho, which just opened last August, and there's a theater in the new department store in Shibuya that's going to have several anime and lolita fashion stores in it, which is opening in November, and there are several other new theaters being built in Shibuya.

Since this area is extending, I hope overseas fandom and news sources pick up on it, and I hope they get popular enough to do more overseas performances - at conventions? World tours? Please?

Kimetsu not surprising must be popular with women, because more often than not stage plays have more girls than boys fans.

I think it's the first run in Japan?

Also, ANN hasn't said anything of it, but there's a production of West Side Story with Shouta Aoi and Mamoru Miyano double-cast in the lead role (Tony), and Suzuko Mimori is also in it (as Anita).

Theatre here is growing.

I saw Nana Mizuki in Beautiful - The Carole King Musical on 18 August 2017, final performance with Nana Mizuki was 25 August 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7UhJfcO-O4 and Nana Mizuki sang at Animelo Summer Live on 27 August 2017.
