Just finished watching Adult Swim and I thought I saw them saying somethung about kyle pope being very crittical about their edit's and all. Despite that they showed FLCL virtually uncut. But,then it also states that he works at animenewsnetwork.com. So I guess u guys got some free publicity from this huh? I always thought that they were talking about Mr.Pope while they were running the FLCL eps. It was sorta funny too, becuase it also said that he made them sad. lol!!

Specifically, it says:

There's a guy who's whole job is to list the edits we make to the anime we air.

Seriously.

His name is Kyle Pope- he works for www.animenetwork.com.

He's very critical.

Even when we do stuff like air FLCL virtually uncut.

He makes us sad.

Sniff.

[adult swim]

Of course, I'm new here - and I only found the site through their mention and a little Google'ing. Not a bad plug. Wink

Yep that was awesome.thanks goes out to Magar for the exact details. Hmm..maybe they should make this a headline on the news section or something. Free publicity is always good I always say. Especially on t.v.

They didn't. Sad

It was animenetwork.com.

Hence, the need for me to do a wee bit of google'ing to find the place.

heh, well. If you can find it, other people can too. It's still cool it was mentioned!

At least AS is aware of the lists . Perhaps it will give them a wake up call to how silly some of their edits are.

You sure? I swear it said animewsnetwork. I've been a long time reader of pope's edit list, that's why I knew who they were talking about the moment I saw it. Awww..well regardless if they didn't then it was their mistake.

the free publicity won't help much since they messed up the URL. (someone should rub it in their faces)

seriously, when I saw it, I sat up and said, Hey I've heard of him.

props to Kyle Pope for antagonizing them enough for them to notice.

Personally, I think Mr. Pope is amazingly steadfast. I could not do that job. It would bore me to death.

I shake my head at some of the weird edit. I had no idea that they were trying to tone it down because some 6 year old might watch it. Blasters in Cowboy Bebop! Light Rays! How funny!

Hey, I didn't watch FLCL so I don't really know if they deserve praise for running it almost unedited. Kyle didn't many "not an edit" on his lists. If they let stuff slip through that would have usually editted, then maybe they deserve a head knod. However, if the series was okay in the first place, then nothing changed.

Do yall see what I'm trying to say? It's 2am and everything is starting to get fuzzy. I can't believe that the first day of school starts tomorrow. [Weeps]

Of course, Kyle is their official censor now. THey look at his lists to see what they need to edit.

Awww....I missed it Sad I don't get to stay up all that late so I miss most of the AS cards. It would have been nice if they didn't mess up the URL.

And Meson, I doubt Kyle has the power to dictate what is and isn't edited on a show. Especially if they referred to him as "the man that makes William Street cry."
