I'm watching the first volume of Paradise Kiss for review purposes and noticed something odd in the English dub, but I don't have the subtitles or Japanese language track available to confirm whether or not it was in the original or is just a gimmick used in the dub.
Can someone confirm or deny for me that Yukari's cell phone number, as mentioned early in episode 3, is also 8675 309 in the Japanese dub? If so, that's a damn slick American pop culture reference. |

I believe that the Japanese phone number system is a bit different, and goes something like XX-XXXX-XXXX. I think the first part or the area code often begins with a 0, I think 03 is Tokyo's since most of the books, figures, and DVDs that I have are from companies that begin with 03. Watched the sub, so missed the joke.
