With a potential strike by the actors and performers that work in Canada beginning at 12:01am on January 8, 2007, some of the voice stars that do anime dubbings in Canada may have to seek options either at Funimation in Texas, or they can opt to appear at anime cons in the US and at the Toronto Super Anime Con March 17 & 18, 2007, pending if the strike lasts that long.

For Ocean Studios in Vancouver, the voice stars that work there will not be affected as the province of British Columbia is under another contract with ACTRA.

Stay tuned to see the fate of the guests that may appear at upcoming anime cons.

Or they could just forget about dubs and do whatever voice work is up there in Canada. Dubbing doesn't really pay that much, anyway. Don't expect Scott McNeil and all those guys to flock down to the US just to dub more anime, because it won't happen.

It will if there isn't enough work in Canada to pay the bills. Plus, voice work in
anime is what gets them name recognition most of the time and you can make
a ton of money at a convention, especially a US one since we Americans are
flush with cash and low on self-control. Wink

For the sake of all the lesser known actors who inevitably suffer the most from
union strikes, I hope this is over quickly and painlessly.

If you'd like to know why my posts are taking on a squashed look, the forum is
too wide now for my screen so I'm trying to start a trend.
