What a wonderful idea for a day. Too bad I don't have my cats any more. Life is weird sometimes. Never quite as good as you hope.
Anyway, "What's Michael?" should have been in the list of anime up there. And "Mitchirineko." Don't forget to go to Youtube channel Mugumogu to watch all the Maru&Hana videos. |

Finally, quality content on ANN.
Also can't complete cat manga mentions without Nukoduke. |

Well, speaking as someone who likes both dogs and cats, these little felines are extremely cute. I admit that anime tends to show them a lot more than the animation of a lot of other countries do but they're still adorable all the same. And,to the ANN staff who showed their cats, thanks for doing so. Your cats were adorable and I thank you for showing them. It just so happens,I have two of my own and I think they're great.

Loved the kitty photos.
Laughed seeing the black furball. Didn't see any moderator cats. I know there are multiple! But maybe they should get their own article |

Boston is a very good boy. Those are all good kitties, but I've been following the adventures of Boston through Zac and Jacob for years, largely because he looks identical to my Yoshi.
Slightly disappointed by no inclusion of Bananya or Nyanpire the Animation in the cat anime recommendations. |

Well if we're sharing staff kitties I suppose I should post photos of my horde. In order from oldest to youngest we have Sherlock (9), Yoda (9), Frodo (8), Kerrigan (8), Yuki (4), Angus (3). Yoda has a slight permanent eyebrow raise (he likes the Rock) due to a small tumor removed from on top of his head on that side. You might notice Yuki's eyes are off. That's because she was born with a condition called eyelid agenesis. She had no upper lids so her lashes grew onto her eyes directly. You can either put ointment in 3x a day for life, have the eyes removed, euthanize, or have the surgery we did. They took skin from her cheeks and grafted her new lids. Then they cryo-froze her lashes off so the new ones would grow on top of the new shelving and lids. So she has scaring from the ulcers as a kitten (which does mean her eye sight is somewhat diminished), and her depth perception is off. She can see however.
All of them are rescues in some form or another. Sherlock Yoda Frodo Kerrigan Yuki Angus |

This is Butters, my lovely ginger girl! She'll be 17 this year, but she cuddles like nobody's business and demands ALL the love, food, and attention from her faithful servant!
As for cats in manga, What's Michael? is always my biggest must! I really wish Dark Horse would reprint it, in the age of cats on the internet, it's like all the humor in this book is suddenly super relevant to how people react to cats irl and online (minus small things like the concept of "getting up to get a landline phone", but I guess your cell phone could always be out of reach as well). And there's also the ridiculous movie, Catnapped!, the perfect movie for the cat furry in all of us! |

This was my beloved best friend, Misaki. She passed away two years ago from feline hepatic lipidosis. Please, NEVER overfeed your cats or give them human food. I miss her every single day. |

I've got to say Psycho 101,zawa113,you've got some cute kitties there. I like them a lot. It's a shame I can't show anyone pictures of my own two cats. I don't know how to do that. Sorry. But,if you saw both of them, you'd agree they're just as cute and adorable as any cats that have shown up here.

Sorry to hear that Lactobacillus. As a vet tech I unfortunately do run across that (dietary issues) though more so with dogs than cats. Lot of misconceptions out there with food (human and their own food) for both cats and dogs. Most people are not bad owners, just unaware of a lot of things that are not common knowledge. I'm sure Misaki was well loved and knew it.
While we're on the topic of pets (even if this topic is on Staff cats and cats in anime etc) consider this a public service announcement: if you feed your dog grain free food you should stop and talk to your vet. There are studies being done and a report by the FDA possibly linking grain free diets in dogs to an increase in cardiomyopathy. Not so in cats, just dogs. Cats are carnivores while domesticated dogs are not. No definitive findings yet, but the FDA has put out advisories and my own clinic is strongly urging dog owners to stop with grain free unless it's needed for a specific reason like a food allergy etc. At least for the time being. Few links below. Sorry to take this off topic. Back to kitties in anime/manga. https://www.americanveterinarian.com/news/fda-warns-of-possible-link-between-grainfree-dog-foods-and-heart-disease https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/nutrition/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-fdas-grain-free-diet-alert/ https://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/NewsEvents/ucm630993.htm |
