Man, you can really tell this was made by a different studio.

well, the visuals was quite neat tbh, it was clean. But visuals alone wont spell if the action scenes offers animation orgasm.

how ? the designs are literally identical. the only difference is the lack of actual animation in the pv which is disappointing. hopefully it doesn't indicate the overall quality of the season.

I can already see a lot of negatives on Twitter so lemme say this. IT'S TOO EARLY TO JUDGE
Keep your disappointments and expectations in check. I remember when the first announcement came for season 1, people were judgmental already because in comparison, the Manga quality is godlike but look what happened

And what happened exactly? Manga still has superior art compared to anime. Yeah fights were all right (could be better if you ask me) but I still prefer effects in Yuusuke Murata's art. When I've watched anime there was no 60 fps quality avaliable, it's good only if you watch it that way.

I actually agree; VERY similar but you could tell it's a studio trying to emulate the previous work. But I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing though. I'll have to judge when I get to see the show in action.

It's really too soon to judge J. C. Staff's efforts here. But at least they seem to be trying to keep up with the standards set by Madhouse with the character designs which is a good sign. What will really make or break things for OPM2 are the action scenes...

Right? For some reason, i read in the OPM S2 PV with S1 shots so i thought the trailer was like telling some sort of recap of what happened in S1 but as soon as i saw Genos i knew something was wrong. Well, it was to be expected with the change of Studios
[Edit]: fixed your tags. Errinundra.

Yes is too early BUT ... JC is busy with too much anime at almost the same time D:
soo it's not like they'll be fully dedicated to OP S2.
- Look at index S3... fight scenes animation is ok at most
- DAL S3 is starting in january and there's still no PV + the promo images was awful ...
All of those are red flags !

Considering all the rumbling about the staff changes before hand, I would have hoped J.C. Staff would have put their best foot forward and presented more than slow moving panning shots of characters minimally moving, in that flat and slightly washed out gradient their productions have a rep for. Well, if the story is good enough, it'll trump any potential visual downgrade, as is the case with most of the studio's most popular and respected franchises.

Yeah I'm confused. Is "Kyo" saying anime only looks good in 60 FPS? Because if so just, WHAT?! He's got to be trolling right?

^I assume we're all on the same page in knowing that 2D anime is literally NEVER in 60FPS, right?

The color design and shading are a little different, so there is that. It may or may not be fair to complain about the lack of animation at this stage(it's definitely not fair, actually), but it's also hard not to inadvertently compare this to the recently release Mob II PV which was nothing but epic animation highlights. And yes, I know this comes out a season later, but with all of the other variables, there are a lot of valid reasons to be slightly nervous about the new season, and a PV with no animation isn't helping..
