So does this mean Anime Limited is the one that commissioned the dub at NYAV, and not GKids?

Who cares. I mean, I had a sudden feeling that MK2 Mile End might not get the rights to use the US dub....But instead, there will be an Canadian dub for sure....Right?

Suddenly the Oscars are all the more likely. And personally, Hosoda deserves it more than any other anime director at the moment.

Man, I’m so torn, it’s still crazy Funimation isn’t doing it. On the other hand Hosoda films are great and maybe they’ll get more attention in the West with GKids.

I seriously doubt there will be a Canadian made dub for this film. The currently existing English dub is what's going to be used for all the English speaking countries. Would be a waste of time and money for another dub to be produced.

Yeah well, that’s just your opinion man. There will be an Canadian dub of MIRAI...IF they don’t get the rights to us the US dub.

It's abnormal for more than one English dub to be produced for any picture, let alone anime features. The last film they did that for was The Secret of Arriety and that likely happened because A) it was adapted from a British children's story so they did a dub with British actors and B) there were different companies licensing the Ghibli films for multiple territories and the British/Region B Blu ray was going to be released before the Region A/Disney Blu ray. BTW, only the Japanese special edition Blu ray of Arriety had BOTH the British and Disney English dubs on it!
Yes, there are a couple that DO have multiple English dubs -- and half the multiple English dubs I'm aware of are for Lupin III feature films and only because the character is popular enough to have those dubs -- but they generally use one dub for "everywhere" because of the expense involved.
Canadian dubs?!? Nope, never heard of them! Yeah, they use Canadian actors but these are guys already living in the US or in circumstances (favorable exchange rates) where it makes sense to take advantage of Canadian talent. You don't understand that they're not making dubs for just the US, Canada or even England. They're producing a dub for English-speaking territories around the world, and wherever they produce that dub, the understanding is that there's economy involved (do it as quickly as possible to keep the costs under control) unless somebody (Disney) really wants to commit a lot of money and use unionized voice actors but that union work generally only happens in LA and that's a small portion of voiceover for anime.

The Boy And The Beast's Canadian release from Mongrel Media used the FUNimation dub so it'll most likely be the same here.
