I don't see the problem there. Kalafina asked people not to use light sticks on their solo concerts (as opposed to when they appeared on festivals) and that was followed.

This is just a guess because I don't know how Kalafina asked but maybe it was the way he asked them in that he didn't ask them he told them.

There's a difference between asking someone not to do something and banning them from doing it.

There's also the "If you want to wave something cylindrical over your head no matter what, make it an inkan." Maybe the phrasing comes across differently in Japanese but in English that's a fairly condescending way to talk to your fans.

For context, Hirasawa is pretty famous for his really strange and off the wall shitposts and rants on Twitter. I'm pretty sure this is nothing more than another one of his jokes, that got surprising amounts of attention with Shachihatas involvement in it.

Can't complain though, always happy when Hirasawa gets his share of the spotlight, dude is crazy talented.

That's just his sense of humour, he jokes about his listeners every now and then on Twitter and the fanbase takes it with stride. Fair enough that makes sense. I haven't encountered him outside of his work much so I'm guessing the response he got is all part of the joke.

Funnily enough, for one show, which require the audience to use their cellphones for an interactive segment, a pack of fans & staff coordinated for everybody in the audience to turn on the backlight feature and wave their phones like glowsticks on one of the last songs, all kept secret from the man himself. This was in 2000 BTW, so before cellphones were ubiquitous in live shows.

Wonder if he hoped for another of these with his Twittering. Also, should mention he has a reputation of being a "tsundere" among fans because of some Twitter incidents.

It was something mentioned on Yuki Kajiura's web site ( www.fictionjunction.com ) from way back and mentioned consistently in information for FictionJunction and Kalafina concerts.
