I understand why they make live action of stuff, bring a story that was proven as good from a medium that people don't watch to one that more people watch, but it never work well! Story don't translate that well from one medium to another, so you either don't adapt it, which risk making a bad product because it's not made for live action or you change it, where you risk losing what made it good in the first place. Maybe if they made a side story or something, but no, remake.
Plus this means all the magic and creature will all be CG, shudder. |

These types of projects respect American properties more than anime. People unanimously condemn the casting of the ATLA movie, but bent over backwards to defend Death Note, Ghost in the Shell, and similar anime projects's casting and adaptions. I'd be more concerned it'll just be like the Disney live-action adaptions of their old movies and basically replace animation as a medium |

Death Note had little to no involvement with the original creator so yeah it's not surprising it was a poor adaptation. This will be supervised by the original creators so if they can find some good partners to make the show then this adaptation has a good chance of turning out well.
Umm you should look back at articles for Death Note and Ghost in the Shell absolutely no one bent over backwords to defend them about casting choices. We get it Netflix, Avatar was good. I LIKED Avatar quite a bit. But between the Dragon Prince from the writer that made LA good, trying to make Voltron Avatar IN SPACE! and now this, it’s like “we get it”.

Articles from outrage sites are usually consistent when it comes to whitewashing, but from a fan perspective there were numerous people accepting it. You should go back and read some of the past threads on these forums where people were justifying it. "Motoko is a cyborg, so her race is unimportant" "it takes place in America now so it's ok" "we need big actors like ScarJo to frontbill so anime will be more accepted in America", "Japan did it with Attack on Titan first so nyaaah!" and the classic "anime characters are white already" I'll give Avatar fans props for not doing any of that when The Last Airbender came out, despite it would have been so easy to say "Aang is an Air Nationist, not an Asian, actually.." and similar stuff. |

I would absolutely love to see a new series set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender. i'm not at all sure about another live-action remake.

If the movie sucked there will be no hope for a series just seems like a waste of money and running out of ideas to make money off of
