It's always nice to see new merchandise based on older franchises... so many shows out there that I'd like to get merch from without having to resort to stuff like garage kits.

The name of the Macaroni Hōrensō character Okita Sōji is derived from the name of a Shinsengumi member Okita Sōji, and the name of one of other main characters Hizakata Toshizō is a parody of the name of a Shinsengumi member Hijikata Toshizō.
