Welp, I was ready to celebrate, but instead I will have to keep on waiting for the subbed release of Lupin III, Part IV. This is the dub-only release, which does not interest me.

Surprised at the Fist of the North Star movie release, especially seeing that they went back and got the alternate ending that Toei previously denied them for the DVD, also surprised to see a 16:9 option since the DVD was only in 4:3 so like the TV series, I'll be looking forward to buying this movie from Discotek a third time (DVD with botched subs, DVD with fixed subs and now HD Blu-ray).
As for Lupin Part 4, I'll wait until the sub set is out so I can buy both at the same time and I might buy Monster Rancher as well since I still own their subbed Monster Farm DVD set and always wanted a complete set for the dub too so I'll be able to own both (on different formats but that's fine). |

Star Ocean EX was alright I guess way back when. Straight C-grade fantasy with a non-ending, but enjoyable enough. Might pick it up.
I am fairly sure I have seen Like the Clouds, Like the Wind. It was a forgettable movie, although nothing to complain about. |

I wish we would get the uncensored version of FOTNS that somehow appeared on VHS in Italy. But I have a feeling that even Toei doesn't know where that is anymore.

Thank you thank you thank you! So many times I see people say that SOEX is based on the game, not realizing that the anime is an adaptation of the manga. It's nice to see it correct for a change!
Also, I hope they put these on Crunchy. I'd like to finally see the end of Tokyo Underground (volume 6 was so scarce I've yet to see the last few episodes). |

It's a shame, too, because Epcar and the gang did a pretty good job with the dub, all things considered. Let's hope/when Discotek licenses Part V, TMS won't screw them (and us) over. But I don't see any evidence that Part V is airing in France first with a special French OST, so maybe we'll be fine. |

I hate how TMS actively botches the releases of it's own shows for their releases outside of Japan. First with many of the stipulations that kind of sunk Detective Conan's chances here, and now continuing with their biggest franchise in Lupin, Part IV. *sigh* Wish it was possible to just watch Lupin III, Part IV dubbed with the Japanese&Italian OST on a bilingual BD with the Japanese with the Japanese&Italian OST... |

This would indeed be an excellent selling point for those of us who have bought the movie several times already, including twice from Discotek since their initial DVD release unfortunately had issues with the subtitle translation. Kentai's blog used to have some good analysis on both the original release's subs and, more importantly, the video-based censorship that was added to the movie, but I don't think he posts there anymore. I do recall that the movie's trailer has a few snippets of the original uncensored animation, but probably not enough to seamlessly splice back into the film, assuming Toei would even allow that, of course. Failing all that, again depending on permissions from Toei, perhaps the footage from the Italian version as seen online could be included somewhere. Discotek's Violence Jack DVD included uncensored footage from an obscure VCD release, so there is a precedent for this type of extra. |

I feel like Discotek is partly done with relicensing Enoki Films titles, but there are a few missing titles going around that never saw optical release in North America, like, do anyone even remember Musumet? The most notable thing the series came out of it is that it aired on the Latin American branch of Animax a few years after the series was released in 2004, and it even re-aired on Chilean youth channel Etc...TV recently. How was the series anyway?

I'll definitely rebuy FOTNS. And I've always wanted someone to license Like the Clouds... Glad to see that happen. Hopefully we hear a release date for the Japanese version of blue jacket Lupin soon.
I still check that blog every day. Even though he hasn't posted in like a year. His crazy wild speculation and pre-analysis of MGSV wound up being arguably better than that entire game itself was. |

It would be nice if Discotek could get the license for Satoshi Kon titles. I have been dying for a HD release of Perfect Blue and Millennium Actress in the US.
