I wouldn't mind if this got a broadcast dub as SAO is a big property for AoA and AoA most likely will pick this up for a simulcast.

Maybe, she did compose the music for Studio 3Hz last anime Princess Principal.

I know, which is why I'm hoping she'll return to the SAO franchise. Her music is so good!

There are rumors that Yuki Kajiura left her recording company because of disput with company higher-ups.
So high chance we won't hear anything from her for some time.

Let's see if ANN annoying reviewers will not detonate the series as they did with Celstial Method.

It does have a severe lack of Kirito so I guess there is a possibility that not a single person will have a good word about it. Joking aside I am optimistic about SAO Alternative since it is an example of how to correctly make a spin off.

Other than the lack of Kirito (which IS a big one) I honestly can't see any significant reasons why or how this comparison even happened.

Yeah. Thanks to it being a spinoff with a new cast and no Kirito, and Yosuke Kuroda working on it I'm actually cautiously looking forward to checking it out.
Edit: Didn't realize until now that Kino's Journey's creator has been writing the novels for the source of this spinoff, nice.
