the CGI work is actually looking amazing too !! and the voice actors are a perfect fit !

Haha, yeah, the VAs and character images are swapped.
More Fist's a good thing, minus the visuals and frames. Though I'm not as big a fan of Blue as I am of North Star. I need to reread it.

It's CG therefore we immediately have to compare it to Berserk 2016. I don't understand this mindset. The 2nd PV looked a lot better and I'm excited for more! Also: AH-TATATATATA!

It doesn't really matter if it is bad 3DCG Anime or whatever is consider good 3DCG Anime, it all looks extremely off putting.

I really don't think so. I mean it does depend on the person in the end, but have you seen Nobunaga Concerto or Houseki no Kuni ? Those two are CGI and they look absolutely beautiful !

I think if it is ever going to work, then they are going to have use a different aesthetic, because the designs they use are clearly supposed to be 2D, and it ends up with this weird doll like appearance. Land of the Lustrous has me a bit worried, as now people are asking for more shows like it.

Did people actually watch the trailer before writing comments? Because polygon Pictures is actually known for their 3dcg. And the trailer made it seem actually better than just looking at character designs. Also people need to stop comparing EVERY 3dcg animation to the 2016’s berserk. We get it. It was that bad. But guess what? There’s more than just Berserk that got the 3dcg treatment. Most of them from polygon Pictures too.

There is always a knee jerk reaction to cg anime and if really needs to end. Some anime are just more suited for cg and I’ll definitely argue this is one of them. Just look at the older 2006 series and compare it to this trailer. It’s no contest. 2D does not automatically make something better and at least with 3D you’re sure to have characters that are literally always on model which works well in shows with detailed characters with muscular bodies. Jojo is an example of a great show but one I’d rather see moved to cg because of all the wonky and inconsistant shots of characters. I’d even go as far as to defend Berserk(at least the film trilogy) for it’s use of cg. Not to mention Polygon Pictures is definitely one of the top cg studios who are raising the bar(at least in terms of animation/presentation) with every release.
