....why.... I read the manga so I understand what that key visual is about, but DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU JUST TURNED OFF WITH THAT KEY VISUAL? yea, for a studio to make such a bad decision, I have no faith in this adaptation (not that I had much faith in the manga but still)

Best key visual ever. Let's be quite honest, the people who are going to be turned off by it probably wont enjoy a series about girls murdering each other anyway, but the people who are like 'WTF... I should check this out' probably will.

So is the key visual just misleading? Because I refuse to watch rape stuff but if that's not the case I'll most likely give it a shot.

It's NOT really about rape but something pretty disturbing nontheless, because the guy shown in the image is main heroine's big brother, who has a sickening sense of superiority over his sister, and frequently abuses her to vent his ever-building stress/pressure from daily lives.
It's a very dark series, sometimes even crossing the line of being "comically" dark. Treat this as a dark parody of magic girl genre ( [comically] darker than Magical Girl Raising Project)

Well, the main heroine of the story is the type of character who is basically tragedy fodder, gets abused and there is attempted rape involved at some point. It's not a series for those who can't seperate an act in fiction from an act in reality or don't like bad things happening to people, thats for sure.

Ah thanks for clarifying guess I'll be giving it a shot. I don't mind dark and disturbing I just draw a line at rape.

IIRC, the manga series has some intense suspense and action scenes. I think it's less bonkers than its sister series, Magical Girl Apocalypse.
With how we actually get a magical girl as an MC, I guess it makes sense why they chose to adapt this one instead of that one.

Well, it's kinda understandable what art means, when you read the original manga.
But isn't it completely spoiling events that start to happen in the manga volume 5 - basically what will start to happen in like, episode 9, maybe 10 of TV anime series if they adapt it without cuts and big rush?
So, they basically spoiling TV series ending twist in the first visual. Like... SERIOUSLY?

You honestly find this creepy ass key visual appealing? I found it very off-putting as you can see from my previous posts. Now idk what key visual your referring to but I imagine it would be for a fan service show so it would be appropriate for drawing in there intended audience. While I feel this visual is a poor choice as someone who knows very little about this series. But maybe it makes more sense if you read the manga.

I didn"t say it was appealing, i even would say "ewww", but just focusing on "guy's huge balls" would be very limited. What I see is a very creepy preview of an anime called "Magical Girl Site" without any (magical) girl.
If it would be a giant boobs girl, we'd know immediatly what would be the anime about, so it's a kind of a bold move.
