It should be noted that Daichi’s actor Tanaka Keita was the first actor to play the role. I’m super pumped he’s coming back as I felt he was a better fit for the part (I loved them both but he was the first and fit the character better both visually and in his voice).

I'm kinda curious about how they do these live action plays. I mean, how do they play volleyball, especially with all the crazy action Haikyuu!! has without, you know, ever missing the ball or sending it off into the audience? Very Happy It sounds like a nightmare to pull off.

Seriously? You haven't seen a stage play adaptation of a sports anime/manga? You haven't seen clips of Tenimyu (Prince of Tennis The Musical - already on its 3rd season, has been running since 2003) or any clips from the earlier Haikyuu!! stages or Daiya no Ace? Either they use an imaginary ball, or the ball is attached to a pole held by one of the actors or a non-actor. It's a stage play so it relies more on the actors' acting skills to feed audience's imagination.

Nope. I've probably seen no more than a dozen plays in my life, including high school productions, and all of those were in English. So thanks for the info. Smile

Haikyuu's Stage play has been my introduction to the vast world of live action plays, and it's a great one. The production uses a combination of an actual ball (that they actually hit onstage or off at times), a ball attached to a pole, or even projection effects, which are done really artistically and effectively. A quick search on YouTube for "Haikyuu Stage Play" will lead you to some clips. The production is really well done and I highly recommend it to any fan of the manga or anime.
