Quote: | it appears that the case is closed regarding director TATSUKI and anime studio Yaoyorozu's removal from the planned second season of Kemono Friends. Yoshitada Fukuhara, producer of the first anime, confirmed on Twitter on Wednesday that his anime studio Yaoyorozu will not return for the upcoming season.
Fukuhara said, "This is the final report, and regarding our separation from the second season [of Kemono Friends], it wasn't overturned. We strove with all our might to respond to everyone's hopes together with [Kadokawa President and CEO Shinichiro] Inoue, but we couldn't pull it off, and I'm very sorry." |
And that's a wrap. I'm sorry KF, but I will not be watching you from now on. I'll miss you and my waifu Friend Koutei Penguin (if she were to return.). Time to rewatch the 1st season forever and pass it on to future generations when I tell them about the greatness that is Season 1 of KF.

I never watched Kemono Friends in the first place and it looks like now i never will.
I will not support a production that put it's priorities above the creators original vision and for what? cause he created a small segment for the fans to enjoy? Well fk them. That is not only disrespect to the creator but their shitting on the entire fanbase.
Let it bomb and maybe they can take it back from them.

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
All because of the removal of Yaoyorozu, the Kemono Friends fandom has been virtually lost.

There's no way any other studio or staff would agree to do a S2 without getting backlash. To think 2017 encapsulates the rise and fall of Kemono Friends, the new hit IP that defied all odds.
At least for some solace, TATSUKI and his crew has definitely gained enough clout and reputation for other peeps to check out any of his upcoming original anime projects.

Loss of Face, embarrassment if you will, something that not just the Japanese but people all over the world experience. Kadokawa has lost face in this, it is likely to be an embarrassingly long period before a recovery can be made. All because of misunderstandings and stubbornness.
Sad.

Tatsuki's literally the only reason it was successful. Before all of his changes, it was just a tie-in to a crappy mobile game.

I find it funny how people automatically judge everything without having proper knowledge of the situation I'll give the guy props for making a series pretty much comeback from the dead and even wining an award for it but that still doesn't mean he gets to do whatever he wants with it like what he did with the unofficial episodes sure he did say it was "accepted" but is his words against the others that were working on the first season I'm pretty sure that the company was doing its best to get to the bottom of this since it took this long but since there most likely wasn't enough evidence they did the next logical thing and kicked him and probably everyone else that was involved in this mess

I'm surprised they're still going forward with this. The original caught lightning in a bottle with less funding than a high school newspaper; throwing money at someone else won't ever produce the same results, especially now that we can practically guarantee someone will be looking over their shoulder.

That's very good news, anime was boring anyway and had really lousy character designs.

It was fun while it lasted I remember someone on 4chan compared the Kemono Friends phenomenon to a comet that feels like an apt description. That being said any future iteration of the series will not have my viewership.

At least we know that episode 12.1 and the commercials were officially approved by the production committee. That means that the explanation that was given by Kadokawa for the firing was a complete lie and that people had good reason to be skeptical of it. It would be nice to know which idiot was responsible for this mess but I doubt we will ever get an honest answer from Kadokawa.

I'll still check out any future Kemono Friends anime, but I have to admit my expectations won't be high. Still, just to see Serval-chan again...
