It often seems weird to me that it runs in a kids/teen magazine.

I mean, this is the magazine that ran To Love-Ru.

I was also fond of the Erina scenes that Nick liked *coughs*, though I am more amenable to the sexy ones than Nick generally, with some exceptions. I don't know if it is more on the mangaka or show's staff, but they do have a good sense for such things, even if there are some disagreeable ones.

There is a lot to be said in favour of eating burritos for days on end. If you sum the cost of the ingredients—principally rice, beans, spices and salad items in my case—then you end up with a meal far cheaper per unit weight than many other wholesome dishes.

They'd be cheaper still if avocados were less of a delicacy...

This show will always have a special place in my heart for teaching me how to cook. Turns out all those rambling shonen monologues about how they did whatsits to make their food orgasm-worthy are pretty sound cooking theory. Watching them "battle" just lit a light bulb in my head when it came to what I was doing wrong trying to cook. I mean, I still haven't made anyone foodgasm but I learned how to cook meat so it doesn't have the taste and texture of a hockey puck, and how to cook vegetables so they don't turn to tasteless mush.

If I had been eating cookies and drinking some milk while reading this, I would've spit it all over my laptop. You guys are hilarious.

During the original release of the manga on the Viz app, I considered skipping those chapters. The foodgasms were too provocative and it's never really been something I look for, even with the male foodgasms. It did make me yearn for the reactions in Yakitate Japan!! Sometimes I say itadakimambo before eating a meal.

This show has grown on me. The T&A is more like the pickled ginger you get with your sushi takeout from the supermarket and it doesn't faze me anymore. Now I look forward to this season and an arc that I never read in the manga because of above mentioned foodgasms. I skipped a lot.

Sure, I'll watch the 3rd season... when it's over. Cooking tournament anime are a pain to watch weekly. Razz

Also, I'm not aware of any doujinshis by Saeki Shun (aka tosh), but he did work on commercial ero manga before Shokugeki. He hasn't released any since.

I highly doubt that there are going to be cooking tournaments in season 3.

The manga artist actually stopped doing porn pretty much right after starting to work on regular manga and has never gone back to it (and doesn't want to be associated with it anymore either). He also uses a different pen name, though that's pretty common for artists doing both regular and porn manga, save for some notable exceptions like Takeda Hiromitsu, Koume Keito and Cuvie.
