If they keep the pace similar to that of Season 2's, then I think it's likely to cover up to the end of the first series of books. |

As the RailDex franchise was part of what cemented my adoration for anime (Railgun is one of my top five favourite anime series), this news has been a long time coming and I cannot be happier.
I am truly excited to see if the series still holds up as we head into new story territory for the first time. |

I cannot get more excited for this. Easily my most hyped anime of 2018, tied with Full Metal Panic!. There's enough content to do like 4 cours or more, honestly, but I'd be content with just two. Hearing all that Mami Kawada makes me sad though.

Most likely around 6 and 7 which would leave us with the 3 last volumes unadapted. They cover a single arc so I guess they could adapt it into movies if they really want to go all out.
Just wait and be pleasantly surprised by how better this new season should get. Both are writen by the same dude. Railgun was better til now because it was more recent, every writers improve, now we're going into more recent Index territories. And if your issue with is Touma. Know that spoiler[from now on he won't be the single main character, Accel and Hamazura should have just as much screentime..] |

I would say better late than never, but 10 years since the first anime means it's about them retaining the rights than appeasing the fans after such a long wait. Which makes me worried that studios will withhold seasons on series, just to use as material every 10 years.
