I know that this an odd question to put out there, but do you guys think Warner Brothers are embarrassed of anime or see little reason to show it in there YouTube channel or show the short before the movie.

... or maybe Crunchy offered to pay warner twice as much as youtube for streaming the short. Warner get to publicize the movie with a public which was probably not yet born when the first film was made and crunchy gets to attract people that may have not heard about their website. Win-Win!

i think the anime short was comissioned by Warner Bros JP and the advertisement guys at Warner US/EU most likely didn't even think about it.

It's 'cus Blade Runner 2049 costs a damned fortune-even if you adjust the original film's budget for inflation-and they need as many people to see it, so it doesn't end up being another Valerian at the box office.

The article doesn't mention an English dubbed version had been completed, subsequently leaked and uploaded to youtube for a short time before being taken down, but not before it made it to torrent sites(it can be found out there). Wonder if that will be disc-exclusive?
