Yet more proof--if any were necessary--that Hollywood is creatively bankrupt. (And now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go to the basement and have a good cry.)

Well that certainly didn't take long.
I mean, DAMN! I haven't even SEEN your name., and they're already talking about a live-action adaption?

A few months ago, I imagined that if Hollywood tried to make a live-action remake, it would have Selena Gomez as an Inuit girl living in Alaska, whoever is a current male teenage heartthrob as the boy living in New York, and the movie would painstakingly explain the reason for the bodyswapping
Oh, well, maybe at least it'll be marginally better than Ghost in the Shell (2017)

I can't say I'm surprised...here's hoping it's a success so more people can check out Shinkai's film, but I have my doubts after watching The Force Awakens.

What the hell. An actual anime to live action adaption with promising names attached to it.
Edit: A wider re-release instead of a remake is better, though.

Before everybody freaks out, Bad Robot is good at working on these kinds of stories. They're one of the few studios I would bet on to NOT ruin this. Also the screenwriter is competent enough to pull it off.

Wow, that was fast. Trying to capitalize on worldwide popularity, I guess.

I actually have high hopes for this. Seems like a story that can be adapted to live action easily.

Watch this win an Oscar when the original wasn't even nominated.
