It might be a long shot, but I would definitely be interested in a follow-up to Gundam Wing... so long as it isn't Frozen Teardrop. Then again, Endless Waltz wrapped it up nicely. The SEED movie that's been in development hell for over a decade would make more sense.

Considering SEED's writer Morosawa died, I believe Frozen Teardrop would be more believeable.

She supposedly had the script done long before she passed away. I've never really heard them say why it was put on hold.

Quote: | The anime's protagonist Heero ranked at #7 on the Goo Ranking website's recent poll of Gundam anime main characters with the best personality. |
I've been a longtime fan of GundamWing in general and Heero in specific and even I find that pretty surprising.

Glad the ship tease is still going strong after 20 years.

"On the other hand, the reason why the anime is getting special home video releases now remains less clear. Maybe there is a nostalgic time traveler out there working for Bandai Visual who wanted to re-experience the series alongside today's fans."
No, it's for two simple reasons: A) the previous releases already mentioned in the article went OOP very quickly, and B) Bandai Visual will occasionally do re-releases in such situations because they like money.
To clarify, there's nothing truly "special" about this year's re-releases, except the words used in the marketing. They are identical to the original TV and OVA sets from 2013/2014, except that the second TV set does not include the outer artbox with extra space for TV set 1, and the OVA set does not include the outer artbox with extra space for the theatrical version of Endless Waltz.

The best pairing in the gundamverse is still canon, Heero still happily married to Duo! Looks at them.
Screw relena, I hate that cover so much.

This and, as for why the posters, these characters still top character ranking polls regularly.

Heero and Duo aren't married to each other.
And why are you saying it's canon???

If Frozen Teardrop is considered canon, then Relena and Heero are married.

I love how Heero and Duo look like best bro even though Heero could give two craps about him.

I look at Heero and he slightly reminded me of older Shinichi because of his eyes. Anyway, so....is Frozen Teardrop happening or nah?

Best way to watch Gundam Wing? Buy/borrow/rent the DVD's, put them in VLC or a console DVD player and set it to 1.5-2x speed with audio. Makes it go by and you still get to enjoy the soap. Somehow, especially when watched like that, Wing always felt more enjoyable than a lot of the other Gundams, even if much less solid.

I haven't read Frozen Teardrop yet, but Gundam Wing is my favorite anime and I hope it doesn't simplify the intricately layered themes and plot of the series. I personally think all AU side stories need more attention and to be adapted into anime, including the SEED movie and Episode Zero. I don't care of the UC timeline is the default franchise, other timelines exist now and it sucks they keep abandoning them for long periods.

Frozen Teardrop reads like bad fanfiction in my opinion. I'd rather a potential sequel to Wing/Endless Waltz be original content. Doesn't guarantee it'll be better, but the chances are higher.
