Yeah they kinda have to announce a third season at the end of it. Otherwise people will worry that it will be another four years. Still great news.

Hell ye finnaly some great news after the dissapointment of only 1cour 2nd season and most likely this 3rd season will be only 1cour too which is cool too since there wont be much material left.

I think it would make sense if they would release a one cour season each year, covering one arc each. There are only two arcs (each taking 5 Manga Volumes) and one ongoing so that would be nice.

OMFG Wit thank you so much! I actually didn't think we'd get any sort of announcement, but here it is and the wait will be far shorter than before. Absolutely cannot wait!

That's great to know, because the BD/DVD sales projections for season 2 look so catastrophic compared to S1 that I was afraid we wouldn't get any additional seasons, especially with Tetsurou Araki and Wit Studio about to turn their attention to Kabaneri S2. I'd really love to see the entire manga adapted by this staff.

I guess Wit learned their lesson. Taking four years can really hurt your show's monument even if they thankfully managed to quickly regain it over the course of this season.
