His cap will probably be either his talking companion (like FLUDD was in Sunshine) or just help with attacking only (like Luma in Galaxy). Regardless, it looks like it's going to be a bright and colorful adventure. Mario being able to possess enemies and NPCs does seem like a fun mechanic. I mean, what's not awesome about Mariosaurus Rex? :D

Looks like something very different and wild.
However, the 3D Mario series needed to be revitalized. It had become really stale and all games were feeling the same. It looked like 3D Mario series would become Super Mario Galaxy and 3D Land/World followups.
I'm very happy to see the direction they've taken even if it's a little strange.

^ You almost make it seem like Mario 3D World and such were terrible games!

They weren't... BUT they were all the same. Same setting, same ideas, same linear world gameplay style. It was feeling like NSMB 3D.
If Super Mario 3D Land/World style games were coexistent with new games like Odyssey, it would be different, but it wasn't looking that way.

I loved 3D World, but Galaxy was a HUGE step down from Sunshine. I think this game will be a LEAP in the right direction.

Am I the only one who read the game's title as "Super Mari Odyssey" due to the use of the globe in the logo? (A video game crafted by Mari Okada would indeed be rather distinctive.)

Am I the only one who thought this was Monster Hunter when they first saw it?
Man, that tune is catchy.

For me I'm just blown away at how dashing Bowser is in that silver tux.
If I'm Princess Peach I dunno, I might just be like "Thanks Mario, but your fashion sense is a little too... I think I'll stay here with my Bow-Bow"
