Although Shin Angyo Onshi movieis made in Japan (or at least, the cast is Japanese, as are director, screenplay, etc - I don't know about the animators, though), the book that this movie is based on has a japanese title, and the "official website" is also Japanese (although I couldn't make out yet whether this website refers to the book or to the movie), it should be noted that the authors of this book (In-Wan Younand Kyung-Il Yang) are Korean, so the book it's not a manga, but manhwa.

Fixed.
Animation was produced by collaboration of Japanese and Korean studios (OLM and Character Plan, respectively). |

Actually, I'm not sure of how this work, it might originally be published in Japan though the creators are Korean. This is quite troublesome, the Korean publisher is Daiwon C.I. and is serialized in Young (under the name 신암행어사). The Japanese publisher is Shogakukan in Sunday Gene-X. As far as the tanks the Japanese releases are earlier than the Korean ones and considering I can't acquire and Gene-X or a Young and since neither site is useful to me (I can't read hangul and Gene-X doesn't have chapter numbers and my japanese is limited). This problem will probably come up again with some more series like this i.e Kurokami and Jackals.
Edit: How does ANN define manwha by creator or by country the work published in first? |
