Although they're still held back by their unfair content claims and inability to step into the modern world, this is excellent news.

And now they're preventing hacked cartridges from going online. Wonderful.

Are you seriously complaining that illegal copies can't go online?

Aw, shoot. Right before they announced the Switch, I had a gut feeling to invest in Nintendo, because the rumors of a portable home-console sounded like a huge win to me, particularly after the success of Pokemon GO. I guess I should have listened to my gut, lol.

Kudos to Nintendo. I have not played one of their systems for several years now but I will never forget that FamiCom and SNES were my very first two. More positive news about Nintendo make me want to buy a Switch and I have enough money to buy one.

....Can't tell if sarcastic or legitimately irked by Nintendo doing something that's not morally dubious (or remotely new).

The Nintendo Switch is slowly but surely brightening Nintendo's outlook.

Well, the 3DS has been their safety net for a while now and is a success in every way. Nintendo does sometimes stumble on the home console department, but when it comes to portables, they always find a way.

Irru, if I was the head of Nintendo, I would something to the effect of "don't allow region-locks. Find a way around these blasted country laws. If we want to reach as wide of an audience, then we should find a way to work around region-locks and DRM".
