I imagine the reactions would probably differ based on whether the protagonist was still a boy or if they changed it to a girl, lol.

Hmm...the closest series I can think of without the use of time travel (I have a few in in mind) is Dragon Ball GT. It fulfill's the fanservice and awkwardness portion in just the OP.

Seriously, I remember reading a US children's book with this concept when I was in 4th grade, and seemed like harmless kids-vs.-parents fantasy, but give it to manga/anime, and the Otaku-era sensibilities of current manga stories makes us immediately picture Squicky Ulterior Motives. Rolling Eyes

Based on what's in the article, the source already gets pretty close. I mean, I know naked family bathing is a thing in Japan, but this takes that to a new level.

A sister. A girl who is a family member but is a peer is known as a sister. We already have that.

Moms and sisters usually act very different. Even though the mom might be turned into 10, she's still the mom and acts like it.

If you think it would be the same as a sister, than you have one weird family.

Yea, it should be obvious, but one does not tend to be born out from one's sister, unless one's father is also the father of one's mother Smile

Sometimes, the weirdest ideas become enjoyable reads. Mysterious Girlfriend X for example.

But if it does end up going into fetishy territory boy falls for mom thing, then it's crossed the line.
