There are two DVDs that have been just been released. One is about $25.00 and the other is about $50.00. What is the difference between the two? How many DVDs/Volumes will be coming out?

the more expensive one is a 2 disc limited editin release with an Arucard figurine as well as 5.1 japanese audio whereas the cheaper one only has japanese stereo and 5.1 english. It also has all kinds of extras on the 2nd disc.

I'll try to post some pics of the case and figurine later.

As for the number or releases, it looks like they're doing one episode for each volume of the manga. I believe they're up to Vol.8 in Japan, with Episode 3 coming out sometime in February and Episode 2 to come out in the US at the end of March. So far, it looks to take about 6 months to make one episode (in Japan).

And rumor has it the manga will end around 10 pending on Hirano's effort, so let's predict about 10 episodes or so.

Only 2 in Japan right now. Episode 3 comes out in February (still on-going, takes about 6 months for another episode/volume to come out).

Episode 2 comes out in the US in March.

if you don't care about the figurine, Best Buy is selling the 2 disc alone for $25.

Yeah that is a pretty good deal if your not into figurines. However in this case the Alucard is actually pretty cool looking. But if your not really into the series already I would suggest just getting the LE DVD from Best Buy since it's a steal at that price.

If you're interested in the LE w/ figurine and don't mind online shopping, DVD Pacific has it for a little over $32 (after shipping). Or, Deep Discount DVD has it for $33.26 (w/ free shipping).

I tend to go with DDD more often because they're pretty good about keeping up with backorders, though I here they and DVD Pac are owned by the same company, so maybe it doesn't even matter.

I got LE with figure from TRSI for $26.32 with free shipping. Then again I ordered it back during July's Geneon sale.

I love the fact that the title is visible on the spine (like Appleseed) of the tin as opposed to the Bandai tins. At this point I have about 20 DVD tins that do not have titles on spines resulting in me pulling the entire shelf down to ID a DVD.

Thank you Tony for clarifying the audio tracks on the two version since there was a bit of confusion regarding it in the Talkback forum. Being both a DTS fan (the dub for this one is good) as well as a Japanese track fan both LE audio upgrades are welcomed and I'll be sure to watch this series in both languages.
