The more Sentai licenses raises the chances of it not being on CR and if they do they will be in limited regions and it's really starting to piss me off since people are gonna have to pirate these

So this is how Sentai Filmworks will try to stay relevant and survive. Get the physical rights to whatever Amazon gets.
Inb4 Sentai x Amazon OTP. At least this is some good competition to Funimation and Crunchyroll, since they have a monopoly going on. |

I'm glad that the Anime Strike-Out series will get a physical release by Sentai, I just wish it wasn't necessary. To think that Too Much Money could be an issue in Anime. Mark Gosdin |

I see this exclusivity deal with Anime Strike lasting one season for Sentai. Judging by the reactions on their social media accounts, almost everyone is upset about this.

Unfortunately money talks, so that is really going to depend on how much Amazon is paying for these streams, especially with Hulu mostly out of the simulcast game. And you have to remember that Amazon is one of the most important retail channels for anime releases in North America, especially for the smaller companies like Sentai and Discotek that don't have distribution agreements with the big studios. So maintaining a good relationship with them is very important. So while they may get some more exposure putting a show on CR, that's really about all they get. Exposure and streaming hits are great, but not at the expense of taking a revenue hit. Unfortunately, the changes at Hulu are pretty much what caused this, as well as the Funi/CR tie up. Honestly, I'm surprised we didn't see more of this last season. A lot of people in both Japan and America have a vested interest in keeping CR from becoming a complete monopoly. If Japan was okay with only having one big R1 company running everything, then Sentai would have never received start up capital in the first place. Aniplex is even pushing their streams on other platforms, and I wouldn't be surprised if a few other companies follow suit. While fans in Morth America may like the convenience of a one stop streaming site for all your anime needs, no one besides CR, and perhaps Funi, are fans of it. Anime isn't immune to the greater trends in streaming. There will probably be more fragmentation when it comes to streaming platforms and simulcasts, not less. |

I swear it's as if every time something Astro Boy related gets produced companies go out of their way to make sure nobody in North America will watch it.

I wonder if the this Amazon/ Sentai "deal" (I'm using this very loosely) is why Funimation is releasing Netflix's The Seven Deadly Sins physical release. I know Sentai did the physical releases for Knights of Sidonia and I kinda thought they were going to do a partnership after the Crunchyroll/ Funimation partnership was announced, but I guess not. Either way it is getting be too expensive to stream anime again.

Well as an Anime Strike subscriber I'll at least get a chance to watch Atom I'm more worried that Anonymous Noise is going to get stuck on Anime Network which given my experience with it I will not subscribe.
If that happens oh well I didn't need to see it that bad any way and off subject but yeah where is my Legend of the Galactic Heroes Sentai? I don't want another Ro-Kyu-Bu! |

In the case of Knights of Sedonia, it appears that Sentai licensed home video rights directly from Japan. I'm guessing that Netflix only had digital/streaming rights. The Netflix logo doesn't appear on the final release. Though it did appear on Ajin, so Sentai probably went through Netflix to get that one. Don't forget that Sentai doesn't have any shows currently streaming on Netflix, but has several on both Prime and Anime Strike. Not to mention, they sell a lot of DVD and Bluray box sets through them, and also offer digital downloads there. While Netflix has expanded their offerings of "originals" and simulcasts, they've otherwise cut back on their anime offerings. Amazon is quite actively expanding theirs. |

Ro-Kyo-Bu was a unique case, and it's unlikely that it will be repeated. Sentai had no choice in that matter. LoGH is a very long series that ran for many years. I can imagine getting all the approvals is a pain, and they will have to take their time on it. Look at all the delays that have plagued theirs and Funi's releases of all the Sunrise titles. A few years later, and only a handful have been put out. Those had all the most difficult work done, such as translation, subtitles, and scripts. Sentai has to start from scratch on LoGH as there has never been an official R1 release. |

I'm curious, just what's supposed to be the difference between the "Frame Arms" mini-bots, and the ones from "Busou Shinki"?
Between the two franchises, I'm not seeing a marked difference. |

Frame arms is going to be crap anyways. So i really dont care about it. I was dissapointed a few days (or weeks) ago when hearing Amazon was getting Atom so i was already prepared for this. Oh well though. A prequel to astro boy may not end up being all that great anyways. I was curious about it though.
