Does anybody know if they're is a Book-Off location here in North America, and if it's possible to order from them? The only way I can find the $1-$3 used Japanese manga are from place like JPQueen, who charge and arm and/or a leg to ship them over here.
Any info anyone?

There's a Book Off in NYC and another one in Vancouver. Those are the only ones I know of, but I'd expect there to also be one in San Francisco (North America's 3 largest Asian population centers).

I have no idea if they take orders, but you can call them and ask.

There are two Book Offs in the LA area of California. One is in Little Tokyo, while the other one is in Costa Mesa in Orange County, which I frequent every week.

Here you go. The result of a quick Google search. Dunno if they ship, but you could pick the one closest to you and give them a call.

Little Tokyo?? Where? I went there today since I live in downtown and was disappointed to only find a lot of depressing closed-down stores. I ended up buying an art book from Kinokuniya bookstore, but that's it.

I've been to two in Southern California. One is in Gardena, next to Marukai. That one has a pretty decent selection. I bought all of my Negima books there ($3 each) and they're all in basically brand-new shape. The other one is in Santa Monica, but that one is inside a shopping center and is really small and doesn't have much selection. Book-off is great for older series of manga. They usually have a surprisingly decent collection at a way cheaper price. A price I'd be willing to pay for manga, at least.

I've been to like 3 Book-Offs in Japan and they have a lot more selection of course, but the NA ones are pretty decent. Better than 95% of the stores you'll find in little Tokyo.

Oh of course all of their manga is in Japanese, so you'd better know your kanji for those that have never heard of Book Off.
