I dont know how I feel about the new visuals. It does look better but I think the facial features are a little off or maybe my eyes are just playing tricks on me. I hope the performances will be better animated. From what I saw it looks like its gonna continue from whether Beyond the Bottom left off which Im hoping for

It is not just you, the eyes look super super weird.
I'm honestly really surprised it is getting another TV series. I didn't think it was very successful in any way (the anime side or the real life idol side).

I've always liked this franchise and happy to get more. Kind of annoying that we never got the later movies here -- which I guess constitute a "part 2", since the new anime's URLs use the term "part 3". Maybe the new anime will compel Crunchyroll and/Sentai to get them?

The new character designs are breaking my heart.
I no longer see the idols i've come to know and love... and it tears me up inside.

I only watched the first few episodes of this. I am kind of hoping that this will be a reboot. However, the new design is clearly hit and miss. Maybe the characters' faces need improvement.

To be honest, I've never been a big fan of WUG's character designs, which have always looked animator-unfriendly to me. Even in the two recent movies, which supposedly had a higher budget and a more lax production schedule, the animators seemed to have a tough time drawing the characters' faces, which frequently looked off and asymmetrical to me.
That said, the new character designs look even more off to me. Given Millepensee's involvement in the new Berserk anime, I suspect they might be actually cel-shaded CG models. That would be a shame, because the fact that the dancing scenes were 100% hand-drawn was one of my favorite things about the original WUG anime, along with the (occasionally painful) honesty with which Yamakan portrayed the idol business. If he and Ordet are not involved in this new series, I guess I might skip it.

I always felt this franchise was underrated. Really happy to see a second season. Also I still have to post from a proxy. What's going on ANN? Only your forums has this issue.

AAHHHH NO WAYYYY this is actually happening!!!
the series + 3 movies are absolutely my favorite, who would've thought that this would actually happen to such an underrated series?!
The character designs do feel a bit awkward though, I have to admit

Weird character designs. Not that the original designs weren't weird, these are just weird in a different way. Almost have a captivating look to them though, which I could dig with enough time. Hopefully we'll eventually get those movies now. I don't really want to have to watch this without having seen those.

Forgot to tell everyone, the english subtitled versions of the 2 movie sequels are finally out there now (I don't think they're official US release though).

The characters' new visuals have a few rough edges, but they do look better than those of the old anime show of WUG.

That's some radical change in designs, WUG is a serious anime but the new designs are more in line with current idol series and look slightly cheap. I wonder if this will be a change in tone, not for the best since there aren't any good serious idol anime besides WUG and at times Aikatsu,

Of course the new design would looked weird and different. It is always like that with everything that is remake from past production or new adaptation. Give some time to watch it once it put on air (if anyone still want to) and I'm pretty sure some people will get used to it.
