Who's going to be doing the voice of Alphonse in the suit, I wonder? They could have gotten Kugimiya.

My first thought: “You’re a wizard, Edward.”

Cool looking effects but more money should have been spent on wigs. >_>

What the hell is that thing at the end??? Anyway, looks better than I thought it would be, but my view is still pretty low.

I'm guessing it was a chimera.

I'll be cautiously optimistic. Some things don't sit right with me.
1. Edward's wig. Before, I complained how they didn't give Armin a wig in the "Attack on Titan" movie, but now I see why. It's kind of awkward to see a Japanese guy passing that off as his natural hair color.
2. No Scar. Maybe I just simply missed his name in the cast list, but in my vision for a FMA movie franchise, the first movie would end with Ed and Al's first encounter with Scar.
3. No Nina Tucker. Even though Shou is in this movie, Nina isn't. Nina's Chimera transformation and death was an important point of Ed and Al's development. Combine that with the lack of Scar, it makes me wonder if the whole movie is just going to be the incident with Father Cornello and Shou Tucker is just a sequel hook.

I'm not at all convinced by it. The effects look cheap, and the acting doesn't look good either. I'm a FMA fan, but this... It just doesn't sell the idea of live-action.

It's amazing all these psychics here can tell everything about a movie from a couple of seconds of teaser footage.

I'm just guessing but that Chimera at the end of the video is probably Nina fighting the Elric brothers ? I mean it would deviate from the story, but it wouldn't be the first time there are story changes.. Also lol good luck trying to tell the whole story in one single movie.. 3 movies would have been hard, 1.. lol

After I started cosplaying and wearing wigs (I'm not even that hardcore about it) nothing distracted me more in a TV show or movie than bad or wigs.
Even Stranger things, which is a nice wig, there is no way a bunch of kids put a lace front wig on her that well. Whole time she wore that wig I was so distracted by it and I loved Stranger things. But even in other stuff, that I'm fine with, I now can't help thinking "That is a wig". I remember watching the live action Sailor Moon and being like "Ahh, they bought nicer wigs, much better." Also, while the wigs on Daenerys Targaryen (on Game of Thrones) are generally really nice and well done, I can't help but think about her dark eyebrows the whole time. Ugh..
In this case the glimpse we caught it did not look that nice at all. Maybe, when we see the whole thing it will look better but I don't think it will ever look natural. And you might chalk it up to blonde on a Japanese man but I've seen Japanese people with lighten hair it can work. This wig just looks like it came off the floor of someone's cosplay closet.

My thoughts exactly and I was going to post the same thing. Since Al is going to be CG, I hope they have Kugimiya voice him.
(Wish they had Fukuyama voice Koro sensei in the LA Ansatsu Kyoushitsu...)

I'm pretty sure that was one of Cornello's Chimeras.

Give the live-action industry a slack. Japan movies doesn't have the budget of Hollywood, hence the SFX, designs, wigs etc. Of course, I am not really a big fan of live-action either, nevertheless, I know myself. Despite me saying "This is gonna be meh", I will still watch it when it's available on BD.
