Now that a real Pokemon game is out is anyone still bothering with this cash cow trash?

I am. I still enjoy it just as much as before (though it would be nice if the prestige given to your gym when you train was returned to its previous levels).
Although Ditto is cool and all, I liked the previous promotion better. Raising Snorlax and Lapras is a lot easier when candies don't come every 5km.

Thanks to Niantic's recent update that gave major buffs to some underused Pokémon and minor nerfs to others, Pokémon GO seems to be much more enjoyable now with the extended diversity.

I was quite surprised when I logged back on the other day and saw the vast change in my pokemon CP's. Though honestly I do think the 2 stage evolution pokemon should get higher CP's since you have to go through more to level them as opposed to the single evolutions.

Real Pokemon games have been out for 20 years, that didn't stop anyone from playing Go. It's a fundamentally different experience from the main series, and it's a fun way to reward yourself for performing errands and stuff.

I still play Pokémon Go on occasion but not as much as I used to now I just wait for events like this one to play.

If we were to have a real Pokemon game in the sense of real-life, animal cruelty laws might be getting down on.

Behind the curve, but I finally got a chance to try it. It was a nice method to get people to walk, but it's really meant fot those in the city than those in the more rural areas. And disappointingly, not for the disabled.
Hopefully the next version is much superior and funner than microtransations that apps have become notorious for.

If Pokemon were real, they would be terrifying. Giving them an outlet for their energy would probably be mandatory(especially with the higher evolutions, given their destructive potential).

Agreed. Just go read the Nightmare Fuel page for the Pokedex on TV Tropes.
