I thought we were getting Pandora in the Crimson Shell season 2 at first glance now I'm disappointed.

That text and teaser visual have my interest. Curious to see what exactly it will be.

Since it was at AnimeJapan, a title drop would have been nice.

Could it be more Yatterman/Muteking inspired stuff like Devander or could this be more modern appealing fare like Karas, C: Money of Soul, SoulTaker, Generator Gawl etc.?

Very interested in this!

For it to truly be an original anime, it would have to be something that is not based off of their prev. works. For example, not set in the same universe.

I know that. I mean if we're talking about original stuff it either has to be targeted towards a more younger crowd, which is why I said Yatterman/Muteking inspired shows, or it has to be targeted toward a more mainstream otaku audience.
I mean obviously, they are not gonna do more reboots of their shows for awhile.
But knowing Tatsunoko, they sure love their 60's-70's era anime shows and they seemingly are never interested in promoting their post-Tatsuo Yoshida shows from the mid 80's to today.

The shows by Tatsuo Yoshida are by far their most popular series and most beloved in Japan.

Internationally, we really don't know these series but looking at them in recent collections that HAVE made it over here (mostly through Sentai Films/Section 23) and I can see why they're doing new series like Infini-T Force which I personally thought was half-decent. Not ground-breaking but good.

Tatsunoko doesn't have to create superheroes to cash in on a wave (being led by the Americans this time!), they already have their own heroes and frankly they're unique, they're not derivative of non-Japanese works. They're very Japanese and work well within the framework they have. Now, how successful they've ever been with the revivals (the 1990s versions of Casshan and Gatchaman are not particularly well-remembered or loved by most fans of those characters and even the recent Casshern: Sins came and went) is up for debate. I've noticed they generally DO go back to the original versions and try to use the original designs in crossover works and parodies like Nurse Witch Komugi.

I've seen their better-known sci fi shows from the 1980s (Southern Cross, Mospeada, Orguss) as well as their infamous co-production (the original SDF Macross) but honestly the shows Tatsuo Yoshida had a hand in have had greater longevity, have grabbed the hearts of the Japanese fans more anyway.

As for this new show leaked image -- no idea. Only guesses. A magical girl show like Nanoha, Sailor Moon, or sci-fi series with girl leads like Kiddy Grade or Dirty Pair but much younger than the latter two shows (in general).

Something new from them would be nice. They have been overdoing some of the nostalgia a bit lately but that's they of media companies all over the world if they have existing properties they KNOW they can sell to people.

As someone who is a big Casshern fan, I particularly think the 90's OVA and Sins are incredibly underrated. I would even go as far as to say that SINS is the best iteration of Casshern yet and one of my favorite anime of all time, even though the original is a classic. Hell, I even like the live action movie.
It's just too bad we may never see a sequel to Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, simply due to its relatively obscure cast. Would have loved to see their more modern works in the roster.

If I'm looking at it right, the girl who's only protected by a smile is also armed. So for their 55 anniversary project, they're channeling their inner Bee Train?

Anyway, I would have gone for "Twintails and Ponytail; They fight Crime. When they're not committing them." Because a smile doesn't come out right in a profile and I really miss Bee Train.
