I read the first novel but i have no idea who those two dudes are. Must be a translation issue. Or bad memory.

The Rei clone made me click on the article. I'll give this a try, but if it turns into loli pandering then no thanks.

Looks like the grim-dark, angsty action show of the season.
Nice animation though.

Oh please. Don't try to compare that with Re;Zero just because the both is the parallel world fantasy with lot of brutal violence, because they're completely different. Seriously, even Alderamin is closer to Youjo Senki than the Re;Zero... except that the later is more detailed about the military stuff and completely throwed out other things.

I meant to say that it was "similar" to Re:Zero in a "it's not the run of the mil entry for it it's genre" way.
Didn't i mention that i've read the first 2 volume? <.<

Well, I read them too (I'm on the fourth) - and they're completely different. It's a curb-stomping military action to the bones from the guy who's got a real fetish to the military history with all references to the real tactics of the WWI, WWII, and some known historical battles, and the dialogs full of military slang. The writing isn't on the same level too - most of the battles read as a kind of military history textbook with dry facts and tactics, and the story is completely stay with the hero on the center (and with too many internal dialogues of "him").
And the think is - with all that I keep my thinks about the anime completely low, especially after the screwed-up adaptation of Alderamin. They need to toned down very much (because what is described in the novel is closely the real war), the things that worked in the novel cannot be really transcribed to the anime visuals, and the story basically isn't for everyone.

Whoa, got thrown for a loop for a moment there with the article title. Monster protagonist? Kenzo Tenma? What? Ohhh! Hey, looks like it might be up my alley if what I read is true that the loli lead was a SalaryMAN originally. Not that being given a loli body is my preference, I'd much rather it was not, but I'll take my gender benders where I can get them most days.
