I've read this before, curious to see how they plan to adapt this as it has potential for both 1 or 2 cour.
Hope they give it to a decent studio. |

Sounds different from the usual fantasy reincarnated into another world LNs. Let's see if is as good as its seems. |

Having mecha in it automatically makes it 100 times better than the competition.
Also, the protag isn't the loser NEET sort of otaku that usually leads these shows. |

The premise sounds a little like the same plot with Tenchi Muyo in War on Geminar...not quite but they do have some similarities. i guess it is a good time as any to cash in on the alternate world craze japan is going trough right now.
Besides it has been a while since i was interested in a series with the mech genre so im looking forward to it. |

An otaku being transferred into another world. Hmm what does that remind me of? *thinks about Re:Zero and KonoSuba* This series definitely isn't doing anything original and as expected for a typical light novel, it can only be good enough for escapism and mild entertainment. Not interested.

an otaku can be anybody who has any sort of interest, like a gun otaku or a salary-man otaku, what amkes this different to the previosuly mentioned series is that the mc is/was not a NEET.

Finally i find somebody that understands otaku culture is not only anime/manga/game/idol. I'm anime/manga otaku but also a train otaku and aircraft otaku. |

Not one of the ones I predicted for the next Narou anime, but OK. Wonder how they're making these decisions... Death March and Shield Hero are both higher-ranked right now than K&M (#7 and #10 vs. #29).
It's like a year and a half older than Re:Zero, and two years older than KonoSuba. |

This reminded of the ban on such genre work in LN competitions, more often than not it is unnecessary to transplant a lead from "our world" into an exotic local when the premise of the series should already be intriguing enough on its own. |

And that's why companies keep adapting mediocre light novels, because people want just that. They don't even care if it's well written or not, as long as it entertains them all's good. I believe anime to be a medium that can excel in various forms of creative storytelling, not a tool used to cater to the masses strictly for profit. I know anime creators are more capable than this, but they keep wasting their potential on these soulless projects. Not surprised or anything since this a popular trend, I'm just a bit disappointed to see this continue to happen. To me, if all a series offers is escapism and mild entertainment, then it's no good.
