Nothing wrong with ripping off a great horror film like Texas Chainsaw Massacre . Don't know what to think of the game yet, can't be any worse than 6 though.

Is it really Resident Evil? I appreciate going back to actual horror, but...

At least RE6 was actual resident evil. RE7 is a PT rip off. Why not just call it P.T.

Seriously, this "P.T ripoff" is getting really annoying. P.T didn't created anything and the last two trailers looks NOTHING like P.T. and like it or not, this is Resident Evil. Guns already confirmed and in the first gameplay there's a Umbrella picture in the house. Also, already looks better than RE6.

Stop me if you have heard this one before. An anticipated entry in a popular franchise come out or is announced. The early reaction is (nearly) universal positive and then suddenly, after a few days or so, ALL you get to hear on the internet, especially on genre dedicated sites, is that "they" are doing it wrong.
Or not listening the "true fans" . RE VII is the latest example.
The live streaming E3 crowd was floored by the announcement, so was the press. The amazing demo made HUGE numbers and most of all had a large amount of callbacks to the 2001 REmake and the lore in general. I like the action shooter-y RE 5 / 6 but it was time to go back to the roots and the producers 100% listened. I have been a fan since RE1 and this is a dream come true, but nope, just look at the most up-voted Youtube comments right now. That site´s audience is a mess but the other sites don´t look better.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Batman v Superman and Ghostbusters 2016 are further examples.
CoD IW got a respectable reaction by the actual community and the E3 demo looks fun. The continued 20+ millions sales are all but a given. BvS was (unethically) trashed by the press but proved to be one of biggest films of the year. You don´t get to 873 mil., a dozen sequels and a studio´s continued trust if you put out a historic "bomb". I always thought that Ghostbusters was an unknown franchise to today´s youth (IDW´s "in-continuity" comics aren´t bestsellers, nothing else exists) and GB 2 was hardy a good place to leave the series. The film had it´s issues but i prefer a flawed resurrection with room to grow than NO franchise at all. But it will apparently kill Hollywood or something...
So, god speed Capcom, let´s reclaim survival horror and none of us played Silent Hills. P.T. was only a concept and can be cleared in 30 minutes. How can anyone be satisfied with such a short bite?
RE 7´s producer´s also explained where they got their ideas from (70s horror) and this trailer even featured a zombie type creature, so RE VII now want back to the 90s roots as much as it is humanly possible. "Cannibals" in the woods, the handheld camera segment are form the REmake, the trailers feature callbacks to Spencer himself and i could go on...

I watched this with my husband last night - he's a huge RE fan, and is really looking forward to this despite not having a next-gen system to play it - and it really scared the hell out of me. So if that's what this game is trying to do - scare people - then good job, you got someone.
The question we had at the beginning of the trailer was wondering if the opening narration was being said by Rebecca Chambers. He's really hoping she makes an appearance in the new game since we don't really know what else happened to her.

I would be impressed if they would have Rebecca (and others) in this.. then, I would have hope and excitement for this game.

That's one dinner I don't want to be invited to. That family must be a bunch of sick and twisted mental psychopaths if that's what they call food and how they interact. Interesting concept there, although I'm quite welcome to the return to its survival-horror roots. You've got my attention Capcom.

What makes this so disturbing is that those were not zombies. Those were cannibals. I'm gonna need a PS4 reeeaal soon.

They are going into a weird route with this one but I'll give it a shot, can't be any worse then 6.

After 5 games done in the traditional style and 3 done in the over the shoulder style?
This isn't even going into the fact they already went back to it's "roots" with Revelations along with with the remake of 2 coming somewhere down the line.

.....Complaining about how this isn't Call Of Duty and claiming IW is screwing up the franchise (again) is a respectable reaction?

You do if you've had a gameplan in place for years and have steadfastly opted to commit to it even when the movies that are apart of this gameplan are all over the place in quality.

6 wasn't even the worst in the series though.
