The christmas sales are seriously tempting me, but in the past I have been stung by customs costs fairly badly. You seem to get a charge from the carrier and a disproportionate customs charge slapped onto it.

Does anyone know how often or likely it is that the parcel will get stopped at customs?

Does anyone know if the customs charges are a flat 17.5% on everything? And would anyone know if they would add that charge to the presale prices or even to the postage costs?

And does anyone know if Right Stuff send parcels seperately if some are delayed for international customers? Or could I end up waiting 4 months for the shipment?

Any other people from the UK (or rest of the world) ordering anything from the christmas sale?

Rightstuf is pretty good with customs, about 60% (better than most other US stores) pass through with no trouble. If they do get stopped though it's usually Parcel Force who slap a stupid £14 clearance fee on the VAT.

Shipment wise they hold till everything is ready before posting although I see this as a good point rather than a bad point as it inculdes pre-orders.

Personally I'll probably end up buying a few hundred pounds worth of stuff.
