The animation here looks so well done that it wasn't until the CG dancing implied at the end of the trailer that I was certain this was Toei Animation.
Anyway, the little dig at the studio aside, this looks like it could be a charming film. I'll definitely keep an eye out for more news, and hope that someone decides to bring this one over to the West. |

I will never understand why animators think they need to cut frames out of 3DCG to make it look good. LOOK AT THE IDOLMASTER PS4 GAME. THE CG LOOKS GOOD @ 60FPS. STOP CUTTING FRAMES IT DOESN'T MAKE IT LOOK MORE LIKE ANIME IT MAKES IT LOOK MORE LIKE SHIT.

I don't see it at all. You might as well call them Madoka girls at that point. |

This looks uber cute. I have seen the CG dance sequence a number of times and it looks absolutely fantastic.

^Isn't it though?! I am extremely impressed with what they came up with. Granted, this is just a PV and I'm sure they polished the hell out of it, but if they are somehow able to make the in-film CG look even just close to as good, I will be very happy with it. I'm particularly really happy with how expressive and natural everyone looks.

The directing is good and they didn't go ham cutting frames out. See any Polygon show to see what I mean.
