I wonder if they'll actually dub it or leave it Japanese voice-only like the SAO games?

Is Asterisk War really this popular? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the game got released over here (makes me kinda salty that they never brought over the cross ange game) but still it's good to have more Vita titles.
I've seen the first season and as someone who has seen at least 10 other magical school harems, I don't see what makes it so special besides lightsabers. I should add that I don't hate Asterisk War, I just don't understand what makes it so special compared to all of the contenders in it's genre.

I don't get the impression that it is at all but for some weird reason Aniplex and Bandai Namco Entertainment committed strongly to it as an international kind of series to the point where they even announced it at a Western convention and were very adamant about it being something that would apparently excite the masses world wide. This is just kind of them playing out that gamble to the end as far as I can tell.

Well, I can at least say a large portion of vita owners are fine with generic harem stuff (like SAO). Heck I'm sure people will buy it just because of cute anime grills and anime humor (the neptunia fanbase on vita. both have a lot of cute girls and anime tropes).

I honestly have no idea why they're banking on this show so hard. I mean, from what I've gathered it's way more accessible than boring crap like Mahouka in terms of tropey Light Novel magic academy harem stuff but I still don't see why Aniplex (Who used to be really selective with their dubbing choices) decided that The Asterisk War's popularity justified the cost of making a dub.
SAO getting a dub? Of course that was gonna happen. SAO getting its games released in the west? Unexpected but evidently its been a profitable venture. But I just don't understand why The Asterisk War gets the same treatment. Before we know it they'll be pushing for it to air on Toonami.
On another note, how come Bandai Namco only dub DBZ games? I've played a whole bunch of stupidly niche games with English dubs so how come popular franchises like SAO and One Piece don't get the same treatment?

SAO... isn't a harem series though. There is an established canon romantic relationship between Kirito and Asuna. And I'm pretty sure the psuedo harem elements aren't what makes the show so popular in the west.

Well it's clearly not the story or premise. It's not THAT well written and if it was the premise Log Horizon would've easily overtaken it.
Waifus man. Game has cute anime grills? There's definitely a good chunk of people on vita who'll buy Asterisk War solely because of that. It's been proven, especially with other vita games too. I can guarantee Bamco is going to at least make a net profit on this. It may not be huge but it's going to be there.

Probably sub-only but hopefully they dub it. Don't really care for SAO, but it's pretty pathetic that SAO apparently sells as well as it does and yet BN and AoA can't pony up to put the dub cast in the games.
Same with the upcoming Attack on Titan game from BN, given how big that series is.
