Wait, so this is going for 25 episodes not 13? Sweet. If it keeps up the quality I'm game.

While I am happy to hear that you like the show so far, but I am not sure which quality aspect that makes you attach to this show, because in the later novels ( 2nd half of anime), there will be more mental and physical suffering (you haven't seen the most painful part yet), emotion turmoil, as well as character develoements (Subaru's REAL growth) for main and side characters.
Apparently not every reader in Japan likes these tonal shifts, which caused the later novels' sales decrease, but I personally love it, as it actually gives characters and settings more necessary depth. If those sound like you cup of tea (there is a reason that Subaru is NOT supposed to be a self-insert character), then you will like this show even more as the real adventure has just begun

I meant quality in storytelling, and this looks right up my alley. I tend to avoid searching information before I watch a series as I'll probably like it more without spoilers, but it's good to hear its going where I want it to go. I've been hoping it'd go psychological, and now I'm hyped.

I'm sad to see the old music go, I really loved it. However I think the new music is going to be amazing as well so I'm looking forward to it. From what I'm hearing around the internet and this thread about the intensity of the content increasing, I hope I'm prepared to be emotionally destroyed when the time comes.

I'm with you 100% on all of the above, and I'm also thrilled that this is apparently going to go for 24 or so episodes.

I was in love with Styl Helix since I first heard it! I hope the opening is going to be just as good.

I picked this show up later in the season. It's spetacular. Most likely the best show of the season, in what has been (for me) the best season in years.
But somehow, I'm the only one here not surprised by the episode count. It has been announced since before the season, on this site even.

What is the point in announcing the new opening and ending, they will just play it like 5 times throughout the rest of the series. Not that I'm complaining, since that means more screen time for the show to move along, but it's seem dubious to even change the opening and ending seeing as they only played them together in 1 episode and separately each got like 3 times that they were played out of 10 episodes. So, again, seems kinda dubious.

you do realize that artists need to make money from these sells.
thats why they advertise their music via op and ed's which also helps the anime get more attention vice versa

It just seems that most Japanese otakus just don't like any storytelling that actually focuses on emotions and characters, or simply misunderstood its central theme. Anyway, this is good to hear for me, as I liked the half for its intrigue.

I think it has to do with the fact that explicit violence doesn't sit well with the Japanese. Here in the West, we're more numb and indifferent to it. While in Japan, being a country that's generally passive, wouldn't like something as that especially when it's despair-inducing (looking at Arc 3's ending). I can see why the readers wouldn't like it.
