Sola was a pretty good one. Very good animation style.

The best summer anime I've seen for me is probably Kimagure Orange Road: The Movie. It is an "end" that packs a wallop (even with a sequel to undo some of that impact).

Personally, I would much rather spend summer, or anticipate the incoming summer, with works of fiction about cold weather and other winter-related things. I hate warm weather, and after graduation, I have no more reason to look forward to summer.

Awesome that The Devil Is A Part-Timer is No. 1 on The List! What better way to make the long weeks of Summer pass by than cooking up burgers at a fast food joint for all to enjoy?
Poll: A bit sad that Manaka from NagiAsu didn't make it, but I am ecstatic that Ayumu (Ōsaka) from Azumanga Daioh reached 2nd! |

I actually watched JJBA SC a few weeks ago during a vacation I had.

Nice to see two of my personal favorites on this week's list with Silver Spoon and Yama no Susume.
Haven't seen any of the shows initially posted in this week's poll, so I gave a nod to Tsubasa from Tsubasa to Hotaru. TtH isn't that well known, but I found her very likable and it's one of the few series I've seen or read (along with Suieibu Umisho, which Lynzee mentioned) where the team manager is an MC instead of a support character. |

As far as team managers, Kaname Chidori had to be the martial arts club manager in one ep of Full Metal Panic Fumoffu, and got a sailor suit to wear, with a big metal teakettle as well. Tradition required them.

Isn't Riko Aida the coach in Kuroko's Basketball?
I suppose Haikyuu!! could get you psyched for some beach volleyball, even though they play indoors. And how does the list have no baseball series on it? Summer = baseball, at least in the US. I recommend Ace of Diamond, Big Windup, and/or Major. |

Never expected to see Sola on here...massively underrated and underappreciated anime.

Don't let Narukami come to your class. He will steal all the girls!! Still, I guess it could be worse with his distant relative:

My 24-yo daughter and I have started celebrating the arrival of spring/summer by rewatching Cross Game. Special kudos to Ms. Loveridge for mentioning Oh! Edo Rocket, one of my all-time favorite shows and largely unknown to contemporary anime viewers. I was stunned when Funimation chose to license this show and even give it a dub track. It just seemed way too "Japanese" to appeal to mainstream Western anime viewers. Rocket is an adaptation of a stage play by Nakashima Kazuki, the screenwriter for Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill. Madhouse devoted an all-star team to the adaptation including director Mizushima Seiji and script writer Aikawa Shou. The sound track by Honma Yusuke is as anachronistic as the story itself with strong 1940's-style "big band" themes that could have been performed by the Dorsey brothers. |

Silver Spoon: Am I the only one who noticed the drug reference in the title? How is that NOT on purpose?

Shouldn't the poll question be re-titled "Which of these club managers is most attractive?" because the question as it is written now, "Which of these clubs has the most attractive manager?", has the "manager" as the object, not the subject of the question?
Alternately, you could name the clubs (the subject of the question as it is written) and then have the manager's name in parentheses. |

Because it's not. It's clearly a reference to the Ricky Schroder sitcom from the 80's. |

I thought Silver Spoon's title was a reference to Diamond Dazzle Tiara's spoiler[former] friend. (Nah, just kidding.)
