So it begins.
Too early to really comment on the rankings as they stand now.
Let's see how things are on the 28th when everything is in the 3rd or 4th episode range.

Especially given the whole thing with some shows taking last week off, some posting two eps this week for some reason... it's going to be a mess for a minute, I think. Still interesting to see the early standings, though.

While nothing definitive can yet be said, I'm pleasantly surprsised that Flying Witch is ranking that highly.

If before the season you asked people what the highest rated show would be, I doubt the answer would have been Kabaneri. Nor would they have thought Re:zero would be third (in the weekly rankings at least, though it's still in the top 10 in culmulative). Jojo 4 being a contender for the top isn't surprising though. I didn't see Ace Attorney taking last before the season, though Big Order looks to take its spot in the culmulative if it keeps at its current spot. Even with a better filler, Shippuden can't seem to shake the bottom, though that'll probably change once we return to the source after this week, barring flashback fillers intruding.

Man fanbase nowadays has exceedingly bland and predictable taste no two ways about it. No wonder there's so many carbon copy shows around lately.

Errr I think that's exactly what you could have predicted. At least I certainly did. Anime fanbase is incredibly easy to read compared to a lot of other ones no matter what some people will claim. Literally the only surprise to me so far is the poor reception for Kiznaiver, not because I think it "deserves" better or whatever but just because it had a ton of initial hype and that design by committee to be popular vibe that Kabaneri had going into with all the promotion and popular staff/studio/cast factors which anime fans are known to respond willingly and readily too and it just curiously hasn't happened yet.

My prediction is probably about the same (at least for the top 5 that put in their due advertising and hyping) as it's started with a little moderate shuffling here and there of the middle portion.

Hm nothing to complain about yet. Very pleased with the first impressions of Kabaneri, Ushio & Tora, Concrete Revolutio S2, and suprisingly, Flying Witch.
My Hero Academia's ranking is a given so far.
Re; Zero also had a strong start. It definitely blew me out of the water (or at least created several waves).
Great to see Assassination Classroom is still a strong contender; that story really is loved by many.
Can't say anything about Jojo's, but great for those following that!
I'm satisfied with Bungou Stray Dogs's start.
Shounen Maid above Kiznaiver had me at a little bit of a 'hah?', but I'm not too worried.
Twin Star Exorcists might also give some in its area a run for their money (I hope, maybe, I dunno).
Last is Sakamoto. Wouldn't be surprised if its first episode was its best, but we'll see,

Well on Kabaneri, before the season it seemed like it would be written off as an AoT ripoff, which is what happened, but that didn't seem like it would be well rated. And Re:zero looked like a rote fantasy harem. As someone who has watched these ratings from the beginning, neither seemed like shows that would be well rated by this community, regardless of how the target domestic audience or the community at large might think of it.

Personally, I expect Kiznaiver to go up at least 3 slots by the end, maybe even 5 or 6 if Kabaneri and Sailor Moon Crystal III drop in quality, but it'll definitely go up 3 slots. I also expect Twin Star Exorcist to go up by 3-4 when people tire of Asterisk War S2, ...Girl online, and Sakamoto-kun. Also, I feel like Big Order might go up 1-2 as well, because video game adaptations suck even more in anime than they do in mainstream movies.
... Just ignore my Pix while judging my post.....

How did the one episode of Sakamoto move up 13 slots on the cumulative when its chartline is flat?

When Naruto Shippuden is not preferred the worst. Maybe this season is really weak.

Ask the programmers.

Ah yeah, that's a glitch. Because there's only one episode of that series, it's not possible to compute the rank change between the last 2 eps.

Nah, Shippuden is just in better filler than the Jiraiya's Ninja Scrolls arc.

This only includes shows being covered here. And since there is no legitimate stream of it, it won't be covered here. If it had one, it very well may have.

It's a real shame, as Macross Delta is the show I'm enjoying the most right now.
