If broadcast, then likely TV until we get the confirmation.
I'm not sure I feel about this yet but might look forward to it.

Just one question... Why? Wixoss managed to run out of steam even in the first season and the anime wasn't popular - it's pretty much flopped in sales.
Or the original TCG doing that great, so they didn't mind to do the anime promotion?

I'm excited for this! I really liked the Selector WIXOSS series, so I'm definitely up for more WIXOSS material. Still waiting for the movie to be subbed for now.

If it's indeed a prequel, that'll leave room for some story to tell.
Meanwhile I'm still waiting on Funi to dub Spread Wixoss. Come on guys, you can't leave me hanging like that!

The goal is in sight. The dub of the first two episodes is scheduled to appear on their service on May 3. The remainder isn't on the schedule (which currently goes through June 5) yet. The home video release appears to be scheduled for June 28.

The first series may not have been a big hit, but it certainly wasn't a flop, either. Average sales per video volume in Japan were 4,604.
It could be argued that the second series was a flop in sales, as it managed an average of only 2,810.
Either, as you also speculated, the reason might lie with the card game itself, or perhaps someone managed to convince the powers that be that this series will turn out sales closer to the first series than the second.

I wonder if it's going to continue the story with Ruuko and the others, or if it's going to be a new story and a whole set of new girl characters.

I'd say it's the latter; the company is always coming with new cards to play with, and it seemed to have a a very stable player base.

It's like, the WIXOSS franchise has an underground fanbase, and yet, there is a new animated entry coming up.

Indeed.
I, for one, am looking forward to MOAR card game madness with yandere girls.

I also liked WIXOSS, so this is great news. OK, the second season was not as solid as the first. In fact, it just did not deliver as great a punch as I expected, but it was quite enjoyable. But then, I like my anime bleak, so...

I guess this may have an all-new cast or those from other media like Re/verse. I am going to wait for more info.

Extremely excited for this. Both the background art and the slow build of melodrama (with several giant peaks/reveals) make this a very charming series to watch. Always enjoyed this episode to episode, and talking about it with others only makes it more enjoyable.
Speculation on the next episode made WIXOSS my favourite anime in each of its seasons. So much to guess!

As am I. I really liked Wixoss, but I really didn't expect it to a get a movie, let alone a third season. I wish someone would bring the card game to the US though.

The first season was more entertaining and despair-filled, but I found the writing overwrought and a lot of the characterisation and plot developments predictable (good overall tone, though). I thought the second season was easily better in terms of story and character writing.
I'm struggling to recall if the LRIGs presenting the manner movie in selector destructed WIXOSS were from one of the manga or if they were Hanare, AKA Ulith's friend Sachi and another new character. Either way, I wonder as well if we'll see the various thus-far TCG-only LRIGs like the stirred ones make an appearance.
