Interesting time to celebrate, considering there's a lot of hate in the Animal Crossing fanbase right now. But I guess it's not quite as pronounced in Japan.

I'm getting really nostalgic right now, can't believe I've been playing this game for such a long time. Let's hope the new AC lets you choose where to place your neighbors' houses.

Really? What happened (assuming it doesnt involve that Amiibo Party game)?
AC was one of the nicer (video game) fandoms I've been in, so this is a real surprise to me.

It is most definitely Amiibo Festival. That bait-and-switch trailer will never be forgotten, it seems. I didn't know there was so much demand for a Wii U Animal Crossing game until the outrage generated from that trailer. It's almost as bad as Metroid Prime: Federation Force.

Ah, in that case then yeah a lot of fans weren't too "thrilled" about it. Amiibo Festival was the AC game that (generally speaking) no fan asked for, especially with how the game itself turned out. IIRC, it was basically made as an excuse to make AC amiibos.
Not gonna lie, I wasn't happy about Amiibo Festival's reveal either, but I wasn't raging. I just wanted a console AC game.

I only started Animal Crossing last year on the 3DS but that video was somehow emotional for me lol.

The first game was for the Nintendo 64 and was never released outside of Japan.
